Tata Super Ace Electric:
Tata Motors is said to be one of the largest Indian multinational automobile manufacturing company for the past 75 years. The company launched a series of electric vehicles and took its part in the EV Industry. Accordingly, Tata’s well-known goods carrying vehicle–Tata Ace is about to be launched with its electrified version. The all-new Tata Super Ace Electric has been showcased by the company in the Auto Expo held in 2014. Many would have been surprised that its been 6 years and there is no Tata Ace Electric seen on roads. There is no proper reason stated from the company’s side. But the current information is, the Tata Super Ace Electric is being manufactured for the European countries, yet with a still modification. Instead of Lithium-ion batteries, the company has incorporated gel batteries in it. In this post, let’s have a look at the specifications of Tata Super Ace Electric that has been launched in the Auto Expo 2014.
Design & Specifications:
Tata Super Ace Electric is an electric four-wheeler launched by Tata Motors. This vehicle is just like an e-loader. It has a robust design, which makes it suitable for working in all tough conditions. The Tata Super Ace Electric is especially meant for transporting the cargo from one place to another. The vehicle is a two-seater model for the driving and the co-driver. The vehicle weighs around 1600 kgs. The maximum loading capacity of Super Ace Electric is just similar to that of the Tata Ace model. The carrying capacity is around 500 to 600 kgs. The front-wheel has the disk brake and the rear one has the drum brake. The shocker is provided in both front and rear wheels.

Motor & Battery Capacity:
The Tata Super Ace Electric comprises of a powerful axle-mounted 25 kW Permanent Magnet DC motor (PMDC motor), which increases its overall performance. It also comes up with a power-packed 20 kWh Lithium-ion battery in it. This is a pretty good capacity for carrying such heavy loads.
The top speed that has been claimed for the Tata Super Ace Electric is about 40 kilometer per hour. Though this is a minimal speed, it can be considered more than sufficient.
Mileage / Range:
Tata Super Ace Electric is particularly designed for last-mile delivery purposes. By taking that into account, the range of this mini electric truck is expected more. However, the vehicle is capable of traveling around 80 to 100 kms. This is quite disappointing, yet this all-electric variant can be used for short-distance transportation purposes.
The average charging period of Tata Super Ace Electric will be around 7 to 8 hours in AC charging mode. There is no DC fast charging mode spoken about from the company’s side. If that is taken into consideration, the charging would have been made simpler in just 2 to 3 hours.
The Tata Super Ace Electric is not yet officially launched in India. If it is planned for launching, its on-road price can be expected around Rs.5 Lakhs. This is because the current price of Tata Ace is around 4 lakhs. The electric variant will be a bit highly-priced than the diesel variant. Let’s wait for its launch.
